Lorient Factory Tour Achieves RIBA CPD Accreditation
Lorient is delighted to announce that our Factory Tour: Fire Door Sealing Systems in Action has been approved by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) as a CPD-accredited learning activity.
This immersive, hands-on training day at our head office and manufacturing facility in Newton Abbot, Devon, offers architects, specifiers, and construction professionals a unique opportunity to see how our high-performance fire, smoke, and acoustic sealing systems are designed, manufactured, and tested.
About the Factory Tour
Delivered by our Operations and Facilities Director, Phil Woodrow, the Lorient Factory Tour takes delegates behind the scenes of our 6,500m² production facility – showcasing over four decades of British manufacturing expertise and innovation.
The experience combines:
- A guided factory tour, where delegates follow the full journey from material inspection and precision manufacturing through to testing and quality assurance.
- Interactive product demonstrations in our newly renovated showroom, featuring our latest innovations in sealing systems, air transfer grilles, and fire and smoke solutions.
- A live indicative fire test, comparing sealed and unsealed fire door assemblies – a powerful demonstration of how sealing systems protect lives and property.
- Two RIBA-approved CPD seminars, deepening understanding of specification and compliance.
Structured Learning Hours
The Lorient Factory Tour qualifies for four RIBA structured CPD hours, covering the following core curriculum topics:

- Health, Safety & Wellbeing

The day is designed to give delegates a first-hand understanding of the science behind fire door sealing systems – connecting product design and manufacturing with safe, compliant building performance.
