Following two years on the Board of Lorient Polyproducts Ltd as a Non-Executive Director, John Planck has taken the decision to step down in July. For personal reasons John has felt that he can no longer maintain the commitment to Lorient alongside those of his ever-growing family and Lorient’s Board has accepted his decision. Speaking of John, Maria Simmonds MD said:
“It has been a real pleasure to have John working alongside us – challenging our thinking; adding another dimension to our decision-making and being a tremendously positive contributor to our strategy discussions. He is not only an experienced architectural ironmonger with many a story to tell – he is also a thoroughly lovely human being and has brought us a lot of smiles along the way – a joy to work with! While we’ll miss him in the Boardroom – we won’t be breaking our ties completely. I have every hope that John will accept ad hoc commissions to undertake project work for us in the future.”
John’s take on his time at Lorient is equally positive:
“Not having been a Non-executive Director previously, I was unsure of what to expect when I joined Lorient’s Board, or of what was expected of me - but I need not have worried. The Board is so friendly and focused on its business, it was easy to integrate and contribute. The whole Lorient team pulls together and is very customer focused. I very quickly became a fan of their products, especially as they will not compromise on quality and performance. I have enjoyed contributing at Board level for the last two years and I now look forward to helping them as and when required.”
