Lorient supports Fire Door Safety Week
Lorient is delighted to support this year’s Fire Door Safety Week (26th September – 2nd October) – a campaign that raises awareness of the critical role of fire doors, drawing attention to specific issues such as poor installation and maintenance. It also encourages building owners and users to check the operation and condition of their fire doors and understand the legal commitments they have.
As part of Fire Door Safety Week, Lorient is hosting a fire safety day at our Head Office in Devon to local Fire Officers, which incorporates seminars, factory tours and a live indicative fire test. Lorient will also be promoting the important event on its website and social media channels with a comparative fire door test video and informative infographics. Our Specifications Manager Sarah Lewis will also be discussing the importance of sealing systems for door assemblies at events throughout the week.
In addition, a social media campaign #ClickItKickIt has been designed by BWF-Certifire to stop fire doors being wedged and propped open. A wedged-open fire door renders that door useless. It can no longer protect your safety or your property. If you see a door wedge (Click it) and share via #ClickItKick and then kick the wedge away so the door can close and report it to the building owner or manager.
