Lorient supports Fire Door Safety Week 14th – 20th September 2015
Lorient is delighted to be supporting this year’s Fire Door Safety Week (14th – 20th September) – a campaign that raises awareness of the critical role of fire doors, drawing attention to specific issues such as poor installation and maintenance. It also encourages building owners and users to check the operation and condition of their fire doors and understand the legal commitments they have.
Designing and manufacturing, high-performance door sealing systems for over 35 years, Lorient’s seals form a vital part of a fire door assembly, helping to defend buildings and their occupants against the spread of fire. Smoke seals restrict smoke movement around a building – giving people time to escape, and reducing property damage.
As part of Fire Door Safety Week, Lorient is launching its popular CPD seminar 'The Role and Performance of Fire and Smoke Resisting Door Assemblies' as a streamed webinar. A comparative fire door test will also be available online, along with informative infographics. Specifications Manager, Sarah Lewis will be presenting at the CPD event on 17th September at the Building Centre discussing the importance of sealing systems for fire door assemblies.
Last year the Fire Door Safety Week campaign help spread the word about the crucial importance of fire doors in saving lives and protecting property to 12 million people, and it set to increase further in 2015, to find out more please visit http://firedoorsafetyweek.co.uk/
