Lorient supports Fire Door Safety Week 2017
Lorient is delighted to support this year’s Fire Door Safety Week (25th September – 1st October) – a campaign that raises awareness about the critical role of fire doors, drawing attention to specific issues such as poor installation and maintenance. It also encourages building owners and users to check the operation and condition of their fire doors; and understand the legal commitments they have.
Designing and manufacturing, high-performance door sealing systems for almost 40 years, Lorient’s seals form a vital part of a fire door assembly, helping to defend buildings and their occupants against the spread of fire. Smoke seals restrict smoke movement around a building – giving people time to escape, and reducing property damage.
As part of Fire Door Safety Week, Lorient’s Specifications Manager, Sarah Lewis will be presenting at a number of events, discussing the importance of sealing systems for fire door assemblies. More details about the events are available on the Fire Door Safety Week website.
- Reserve your place at the free CPD accredited Fire Door Safety Seminar: here. The event takes place on Tuesday 26th September, 9am - 2pm at Elstree Studios, Borehamwood.
Last year the Fire Door Safety Week campaign reached 9 million people, and it is set to increase further in 2017. There are a number of free resources available to download, including the Best Practice Guide for Fire Doors, get your copy here.
