60 Minute Fire Rated Door (+ Smoke & Acoustics - Multiple Occupancy)
These solutions are suitable for 60 minute fire and smoke rated doors, required to also provide an acoustic performance of at least 29dB Rw.
Please note, to achieve acoustic performance on any door assembly, it is always essential to seal the threshold. (You may find our FAQ on threshold sealing helpful.)
Single leaf, single swing doors
- Perimeter seal: LP2004DS (alternative: LP2004 Finesse™)
- Threshold seal: IS8010 si (alternative: IS8005 si). Note: It is recommended that the threshold seal is protected with the addition of an intumescent cladding kit.
- Acoustic performance: 31dB Rw
Double leaf, single swing doors
- Perimeter seal: LP2004DS (alternative: LP2004 Finesse™)
- Threshold seal: IS8010 si in both door leaves (alternative: IS8005 si). Note: It is recommended that the threshold seal is protected with the addition of an intumescent cladding kit.
- Meeting stile seal: LP2004DS on one side, LP2004 on the other
- Acoustic performance: 30dB Rw

Recommended products to complete this solution:
- High Performance Letterplate - ideal for use in apartment front doors that also need to provide acoustic, smoke and fire containment.
- Integrity™ Threshold Plates & Ramps - to ensure a firm and continuous seal at the threshold; several are offered with a non-slip safety finish
- IS9050 and IS9070 Finger Guard seals - to protect small fingers by covering the gaps at the hinge stile on both sides of the door
- Door Edge Protectors - to repair damaged door edges, or protect new doors from damage in high traffic areas, such as corridors. Available with integral smoke and fire seal
- System-36/15, System-63Ř or System-90 PLUS glazing system (dependent on glass type and aperture shape being used) - to ensure glazed panels are held firmly in place. (You may find our FAQ on adding glazing panels into fire rated doors helpful)
- Intumescent ironmongery protection kits - for use with locks and latches, concealed door closers, and automatic threshold seals
These are our typical recommended solutions, to cover the majority of installations.
