Acoustic Performance - Multiple Occupancy
A typical fire-rated or non-fire rated door construction is highly unlikely to enable higher levels of acoustic performance to be achieved. A high performance acoustic door construction will be required. (You may find our FAQ on achieving high acoustic performance ratings helpful.)
Please note, to achieve acoustic performance on any door assembly, it is always essential to seal the threshold. (You may find our FAQ on threshold sealing helpful.)
All of the recommended solutions have been successfully tested on high performance acoustic door constructions.
These are our typical recommended solutions, to cover the majority of installations. However, Lorient has a vast library of test evidence, and there are plenty of alternative solutions we could suggest!
